F 35s - A,B or C?

As you may already know, they do appear to be closely related.  The A is suitable for long well kept runway take offs and landings.  The B is designed for short take off and vertical landings, having a huge fan like device behind the pilot that allows it to descend vertically.  The C is a reinforced version suitable for aircraft carrier take offs and landings and the high loads implied.  The A has the highest carrying capacity and can carry heavy bombs in its stealth mode.

Following the recent crash, it sounds as if all Bs are grounded pending the outcome of the crash investigation.
