A group of Democratic US senators, along with independent, Bernie Sanders, have questioned whether exporting commercial nuclear power technology to Saudi Arabia is a security risk. Brett Wilkins with Common Dreams reports. 

Saudi nuclear deal raises alarms

Saudi Arabia is seeking US support for its nuclear energy program. Critics fear this would be used to develop nuclear weapons. Among those concerned are a group of US senators who are urging President Biden to “seriously consider” whether such a move is in the national interest as the administration brokers a deal to normalize relations between the kingdom and Israel. That deal could allow for continued arms sales to Saudi Arabia, another destabilizing factor in the region. Common Dreams reports. READ MORE
