The 2023 Nuclear-Free Future Awards will honor three activists in a ceremony in New York who campaign to ensure the survivors of atomic tests are recognized, compensated and provided medical support. Daniel Ellsberg is also remembered.

All three winners of the 2023 Nuclear-Free Future Awards dedicate their lives to bringing justice, recognition and tangible help to the survivors of atomic tests and their descendants. Tina Cordova has campaigned for 18 years to get the Trinity test victims recognized as downwinders. Benetick Kabua Maddison educates audiences about the deadly legacy of the 67 US atomic tests in his homeland, the Marshall Islands. And Polynesian, Hinamoeura Cross, pressures the French government to admit responsibility for its South Pacific nuclear tests and provide in-country medical support. Daniel Ellsberg will be honored posthumously with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The event is in New York City on November 28. READ MORE
