The death, destruction and humanitarian crisis in Gaza is deepening and the ongoing war risks escalating into a wider regional conflict.
Israel is a nuclear-armed state and there is a serious danger of this terrible conflict turning nuclear in the event of a wider war across the Middle East. The consequences of nuclear use would be unthinkable and it must not happen.
The call for a ceasefire is growing, and over 80 MPs from across the political parties have already signed Early Day Motion 1685, calling for an immediate ceasefire in order to protect civilians living in Palestine and Israel. Please lobby your MP, asking them to sign Early Day Motion 1685.
This motion, which supports the calls of leading humanitarian agencies, urges the government to press all parties to agree to an immediate de-escalation and cessation of hostilities, for the release of the Israeli hostages, for vital humanitarian aid to be allowed to enter Gaza unrestricted, and for international law to be upheld.
Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets across Britain last Saturday to demand a ceasefire and an end to hostilities in Gaza. Please join us this Saturday to support a ceasefire and add your voice to the calls for peace.
