Help resist attacks on the movement
The public outcry over the horrific scenes in Gaza and the demands for an immediate ceasefire have sent the Tories into attack mode.
The Home Secretary has called the protests ‘hate marches’ and is pushing to change the law surrounding the right to protest. The Met Police have threatened to be ‘absolutely ruthless’ when it comes to arrests, but that’s not enough for one Tory MP who has demanded the military be drafted in to deal with the march planned for 11 November.
Labour too are attacking the movement. MP Andy McDonald was suspended from the party last week for calling for ‘peaceful liberty’ for Israelis and Palestinians living between ‘the river and the sea’.
It is down to all of us to counter these attacks and defend the right to protest. To do so we must build the strongest movement possible.
It is only by having a mass membership base that we gain that strength. This is why it is so important that you not only join us on the streets, but join us as a member.
Neither the government nor the Labour leadership can believe so many support peace when they can only contemplate war. Let’s show them how many we are. Join us today and be part of the largest anti-war movement in history.
The bigger we are, the stronger we become.
