On Saturday, 11 November, CND is again calling on supporters to join us for another mass mobilisation in London, to demand the UK government finally backs calls for a ceasefire in Gaza. The march will go from Park Lane to the US Embassy, 33 Nine Elms Lane, London.
The death toll In Gaza has surpassed 10,000, with 40 percent of them children. Thousands more have been injured or displaced. The deepening humanitarian crisis risks the lives of thousands more.
The risk of regional escalation remains. This week, an Israeli minister suggestedthat a nuclear weapon could be dropped on Gaza. Meanwhile, the UK government refuses to call for an end to the slaughter, sending arms and giving diplomatic cover to Israel’s breaches of international law.
Pressure is mounting on Rishi Sunak to take action. Over 90 cross-party MPs have added their names to an Early Day Motion which backs an urgent ceasefire and calls on the UK government to use its influence to protect civilians in Gaza. You can read the text of the motion here and lobby your own MP to add their name here.
CND Chair Tom Unterrainer has written on the crisis unfolding in Gaza and the threat posed by Israeli nuclear weapons. You can read in full here.
