Report from Unite to Survive South West on Saturday 28 October in Bath

Unite to Survive South West on Saturday 28 October in Bath was everything that we could have hoped for – and more. It delivered a strong message to national and local leaders – that we want to see meaningful action on the climate emergency, perilous state of nature and social injustice. We are so grateful to all those who made it possible: our more than 40 allies and the host of performers, entertainers, speakers, workshop facilitators, stewards, volunteers… and all those who attended or participated on the day. It was an event to remember – and one that will unite and inspire us going forward.

With special thanks to our allies:

Unite To Survive South West would not have been possible without the support we received from local groups XR Bath and XR Bristol. XR Bath were generous hosts, providing support, accommodation and local knowledge, with XR Bristol helping with the planning and organisation on the ground. Thank you both.

If you did not make it to the event, we have also included a link to the professional photos taken on the day to give you a flavour of what you missed! (Please credit Jamie Bellinger if you reproduce any).

Finally, if you are inspired by actions taken by XRSW and would like to support what we do (and can afford it!) please donate to our South West 2023 fundraising campaign. Your funds provide the vital help needed to make our actions as successful as possible. Any help you give is really appreciated, and all money donated will go direct to XRSW. Thank you for any help you can give!

So, what next? We are now looking at how to build this momentum and strengthen our alliances so we are better able to face the crises ahead. We would love to hear your ideas on this.

Thank you once again for your support, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Love, rage and rebellion
