Stop the War Coalition

Keep Up the Momentum

Saturday’s magnificent demonstration has not just toppled Suella Braverman, it has rocked the establishment and put the question of a ceasefire in Gaza at the very centre of British politics.

Congratulations to everyone who came and everyone who mobilised. It is essential that we keep up the momentum and step up the pressure.

The movement has called a protest at Parliament this Wednesday at 5pm to coincide with the vote on an amendment calling for a ceasefire.

Stop the War Trade Union Network has linked up with CND to call for workplace rallies and protest on Wednesday to build the movement at work and to add to pressure for a ceasefire vote.

Please circulate information to trade unionists across you area and send your actions to [email protected]. Below are a ideas for actions you can take at work on Wednesday…

This Saturday, the whole movement is calling for local protests, marches and other actions to widen and deepen the movement. We will be announcing another national demonstration in the next few days.

In the meantime it is really important that we hold big local indoor rallies with high profile speakers (MPs, councillors, faith leaders and celebrities as well as national Stop the War speakers) to help develop and strengthen the movement. The movement needs events which can develop our understanding and organisation to keep pushing forward. Over 300 people packed into the London rally last Thursday with the title ‘Stop the War in Gaza: Palestine, Imperialism and the Middle East’.
