Using the threat of nuclear war as movie entertainment, averted only by X-men, jet-fighter jocks, uber physicists and superspies, says Farah Sonde, downplays the fears of a nuclear conflict to its audience. But, she writes, “It doesn’t take the work of a scientific genius or a swaggering spy to stop nuclear proliferation.
