A new report from the National Audit Office has revealed that the budget for the Defence Nuclear Organisation skyrocketed – up by £38.2 billion to £99.5 billion in 2023. That’s an increase of 62 percent and accounts for almost a third of Ministry of Defence procurement spending.
While The Equipment Plan 2023–2033 report states that over the next decade, spending on Britain’s Nuclear Defence Enterprise will reach £109.8 billion, the MoD has already stated that this will rise to £117.8 billion!
Meanwhile, the Treasury is concerned about “significant uncertainties in long-term nuclear costings and funding” past 2025 – just over one year away! It’s time to end the madness and scrap Britain’s nuclear weapons for good! Read more on the CND website.
