The blank-cheque policy on nuclear weapons continues

Show your opposition: add your name to our newspaper ad!

The new cost estimates for the UK’s nuclear weapons system are expected to be revealed in early 2024, shedding further light on the colossal sums of public money being spent on weapons of mass destruction.

As you know, CND plans to publish a full page advert in The Guardian on 9 March, to coincide with the Chancellor’s Spring Statement – a strong statement to government and to all political parties that every pound spent on nuclear weapons is an abhorrent waste with no benefit to society.

We’ve already received many donations from supporters - a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far! But we still need to raise more money and include as many names as possible in the ad.

Please help and send a donation if you can, and we’ll add your name! We must receive your donation by 9 February 2024 for your name to be included.

Instead of wasting money on weapons, the government should be investing in our NHS, schools, public transport and renewable energy. Let’s make sure this message is heard loud and clear: please fill out the form and make a donationto add your name to the advert.

In peace,

Kate Hudson

General Secretary
