The situation in Rafah is grave. Refugees who have fled there have endured the worst of Israel’s five-month long military offensive and are now facing further bombardment. Bent on the destruction of the Gaza Strip and its people, Netanyahu is ignoring warnings from the US against attacking Rafah. An attack that can only result in a massacre of the civilian population.
More than 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza have already been killed and most of its 2.3 million people have been displaced – almost all of whom are now sheltering in inhumane conditions in Rafah.
The only way to stop this madness is by mobilising the public and pressuring our own government to end its support for Israel. You will help us immensely by becoming a Stop the War member. It costs as little as £3 a month to join and support our efforts.
Any attack on Rafah amounts to a continuing Nakba and a genocidal act which must be stopped immediately. Women and children fled to Rafah seeking refuge but now they have nowhere to turn.
As we have done since October, we reacted quickly to events, along with our partner organisations, by calling an emergency demonstration outside Downing Street on Monday evening. Thousands turned up to condemn the actions of the Israeli’s and called for an immediate ceasefire. Similar protests were also called by our groups around the country. We are doing all we can to make sure that this Saturday’s National Demonstration is even bigger than the last.
We’ve been relentlessly campaigning since the war on Gaza began and we don’t intend to stop until there is a ceasefire and justice for the Palestinians. But campaigning costs a lot of money. One way you can help us is by becoming a member. Your membership will provide us with the essential funds to continue our campaign.
We appreciate your support.
In solidarity,
