Leave the World Behind, streaming on Netflix, is a multi-layered and almost entirely metaphorical look at our stubborn insistence on ignoring the threats that are bearing down on us. While the plot is centered around mysterious cyber attacks, the warning it delivers applies equally well to our failure to recognize or act upon the existential threats of climate change, nuclear weapons and nuclear power.
