CND is delighted to announce the winners of its poster competition, in conjunction with artist Peter Kennard.
Congratulations to Daniel Fisk, age six from Bridgend, who won in the 13 and under category and to Gemma Power, living in Mexico City but originally from London, who won in the all-ages category. Five others were highlighted by Peter as runners-up and highly commended entries. All the winning posters can be seen and downloaded
from our website.Peter Kennard sends his congratulations to all who took part:
“Thanks to you all. It was great to see the artwork you sent in expressing such powerful and passionate condemnation of nuclear weapons and the arms race. Your images showed that we must use our creativity to campaign ever more furiously against these obscene weapons of total destruction.”
CND has been inundated with requests for posters during lockdown, as our supporters seek ways of raising their voices against nuclear weapons at a time when many campaigning activities are on pause. We hope you can use these and our
NHS not Trident ones to share our campaign in a creative way.
Moving money out of nuclear weapons: new report
A new report from faith groups has highlighted the billions of pounds being invested in nuclear weapons producers by UK financial institutions.
One early success of the project has been The People’s Pension and
NEST, with more than eight million members between them, confirming that they will be seeking the views of their members on their existing policies.
All of us have some interaction with a financial institution, whether through a bank account, mortgage, pension or another investment. Find out where your money might be going and help us take money out of nuclear weapons.
