US and UK should stop arming Israel

Having failed to get a UN resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza there is one thing the US could do to end the war: it could stop arming Israel.

If the US, and its ally the UK, wanted peace they could use the most powerful leverage of all and cease trading arms with Israel. But they refuse. Since the war began there have been over 100 US weapons deliveries to Israel, and the Biden administration has twice bypassed Congress to send hundreds of millions of dollars of tank shells and ammunition.

In step with the US, the UK government supplies weapons with one hand and offers aid with the other. By continuing to sell arms to Israel it is complicit in genocide, and complicit in Israel’s war crimes.

Pressure from the streets, impending elections and the growing condemnation of Israel’s actions have led to cracks in support for Israel’s war. It is imperative we keep up the pressure and build the demonstration on 30 March. This is why we are holding a series of meetings on Palestine across the country, and why this weekend we held more local protests.

But sustaining this heightened level of activity costs, so we ask for your help.
