Our government is under immense pressure finally to impose an arms embargo on Israel. In the last week evidence has emerged revealing the Foreign Office is suppressing legal advice that Israel is breaching international law; over 600 legal professionals, including senior justices, signed a letter demanding an arms embargo; MPs, including senior politicians from all parties, are calling for arms sales to stop. Meanwhile, CAAT’s research revealed that the aid workers Israel killed in Gaza were murdered by a drone made by Elbit Systems with an engine based on UK technology.
CAAT’s research has been at the forefront of this call to action from the very beginning. In the last week, we have been quoted or cited repeatedly in the mainstream media, including The Guardian, FT, The Independent, The Standard, The Week, Middle Eastern Eye, on the BBC and NPR – and in many more places. You can follow the links below to read about this.
Alongside our research and media work, we have been keeping up the pressure on MPs, and working with grassroots campaigners to take action against arms companies.
This pressure is working. But with Israel deliberately forcing over 1 million Palestinian people into famine, the situation is beyond urgent. We need an arms embargo now. And we need your help to enable us to keep up this pressure.
Please support us now in our work to keep up this pressure!
