Our money is paying for wars
In fiscal year 2023, the Pentagon received $858 billion of our tax dollars for the preparation for war. If you factor in other hidden costs including the nuclear weapons complex, that figure soars to an even more obscene $1 trillion per year. The Plowshares movement founder, Philip Berrigan (pictured), had his own way of resisting this, including spending a total of 11 years behind bars for acts of civil disobedience guided by conscience.
