Mass graves have been unearthed inside Gaza’s main hospitals, bodies stripped naked, hands tied behind backs. No wonder the majority of people want a ceasefire, no wonder yesterday saw another massive show of solidarity for Palestine on the streets of London.

Hundreds of thousands poured into the capital to show the world that we will not rest until there is a ceasefire and justice for the Palestinians.

But to maintain the momentum we must once again ask for your support. Since October we have seen an unprecedented level of campaigning, to continue we need your help.

But it is not just Gaza. Israel’s war is causing the Middle East fault lines to rupture. Threat of a wider war grows daily. Rather than defusing conflict both Biden and Sunak increase military spending and provide new and deadlier weapons to Israel.

This week Rishi Sunak said Britain is on a war-footing. He announced an additional £75 billion in ‘defence’ spending, supposedly to counter the threats from the Middle East, Russia and China. This vast sum of money will come from cutting civil service jobs and our already threadbare public services.

Britain already has by far the biggest military budget in NATO after the US.

We must fight against this obscene level of military spending, which will only bring more war, not less.
