This month, we will be stepping up our actions around the slogan ‘Exist, Resist, Return’, culminating in our national Nakba Day march for Palestine, assembling at the BBC in Portland Place in London on Saturday 18 May.
Will you help to spread the word among your networks?
This year, Nakba Day provides a moment for us to both raise awareness of the true background to Israel’s current genocidal violence, and to draw resolve and strength from the decades of Palestinian resistance to Israel’s regime of settler-colonialism and apartheid.
Start by taking to the streets this weekend. Protests are taking place in towns and cities across Britain calling for an end to UK complicity in Israel’s genocidal assault on Palestinians.
For over 76 years, Israel’s settler-colonial project has fragmented the Palestinian people by geography and legal status, denied Palestinian refugees their right to return to their lands, and has entrenched a regime of control that systematically discriminates against Palestinians in all aspects of life. Israel’s current genocide is built on the foundations of this project.
The Saturday before Nakba Day, 11 May, we are calling a national day of action under the slogan ‘Exist, Resist, Return.’ We’ll call for an end to the genocide, an end to Israel’s regime of apartheid, and the implementation of the right of return for all Palestinians.
Throughout that week we will be coordinating activity including on university campuses in support of the inspiring student encampments that have now spread to Britain! Watch out for further updates in future emails.
On 18 May, we return in London for a national demonstration for Palestine. Be sure to save the date and make preparations to join us.
In solidarity,
Lewis
