By disrupting the AGM, we took the message directly to Barclays senior management: we won’t stop campaigning until you stop enabling Israel’s attacks on Palestinians.
Earlier this week, PSC, alongside Campaign Against Arms Trade and War on Want, released a new report uncovering that Barclays has substantially increased its investments in companies supplying Israel with weapons and military technology.
Barclays now holds over £2 billion in shares, and provides £6.1 billion in financial services, to companies supplying Israel with the weapons it uses to carry out its devastating attacks on Palestinians.
We’re calling on all people of conscience to boycott the bank.
Click the button below to join the boycott Barclays campaign. If you’re a Barclays customer, pledge to close your account on our next collective account closure day, Thursday 11 July. If you’re not a Barclays customer, write to the bank’s senior management and tell them you won’t use Barclays services while it is complicit in Israel’s genocide and apartheid against Palestinians.
Acting together, we’re showing Barclays that complicity in Israel’s genocidal violence has a cost. Tens of thousands of people across Britain will refuse to use your services until this complicity ends. Already this year, over 3,000 people have closed their Barclays account on our collective account closure days.
Our Palestinian partners are clear that taking action against companies, like Barclays, that facilitate and enable Israel’s attacks, is an effective way to stand with their struggle for freedom and justice.
In solidarity,
Lewis
