A new bill that adds uranium to the list of fossil fuel imports now banned from Russia due to its war against Ukraine, jeopardizes the health and safety of largely Native American communities. Instead of prompting a move away from nuclear power use, the bill has been embraced by uranium corporations who will now receive massive funds to support new uranium mining and milling in the US, even though the more than 4,000 abandoned uranium mines (Church Rock pictured) have never been cleaned up.
