Two-part programme on the BBC World Service featuring the incredible Setsuko Thurlow

Posted: 29th May 2024

Dear ICAN friends,

We wanted to draw your attention to a powerful, two-part programme on the BBC World Service featuring the incredible Setsuko Thurlow: “The Hiroshima survivor who’s still shouting for peace” You can listen to them here: Part 1Part 2

These programmes are very moving and informative about the impact of the bomb and Setsuko’s campaigning and we would like to encourage you to share them far and wide this week. ICAN will, of course, be doing the same, to help more people hear Setsuko’s story and message, and also show the BBC – and other major outlets around the world – that there is an audience eager to hear and engage with these stories.

We hope you will let Setsuko’s powerful voice inspire you today, the way she has done for so many of us over the years.

Best,

melissa

PS – Many thanks and congratulations to Kathleen Sullivan from Hibakusha Stories for all her work in making this happen (and for drawing our attention to this).
