The nuclear bros are responsible for promoting small modular and “advanced” reactors across the media spectrum, but it’s overblown hype, writes Ed Lyman.

The alleged wonders of small modular reactors are being sold to us by a collection of nuclear bros, among them billionaire Bill Gates (pictured.) They have no qualms about taking our money (in federal subsidies) to build their nuclear vanity projects, but their claims about SMR economics, safety and waste are wildly exaggerated, says physicist Ed Lyman of the Union of Concerned Scientists. READ MORE
