Georgia ratepayers issued a warning to other communities contemplating new nuclear power plant construction by filing a lawsuit that exposes how consumers there have been gouged by the new Vogtle 3 and 4 reactors, increasing bills by as much as 40%.

Georgia consumer groups are suing the state for postponing Georgia Public Service Commission elections that allowed the sitting commission to rubber-stamp the largest utility rate increases in Georgia history.
