Resisting Farnborough Airshow

As military planes roared over the Farnborough International Airshow – the very same planes currently bombing Gaza – peace campaigners and local residents gathered outside to show their disgust at the arms trade.

On Wednesday 24th July, PPU members joined other organisations, including CAAT and Greater Rushmoor Action for Peace, to resist the Farnborough International Airshow, which featured companies currently supplying arms to Israel and exhibits of ‘environmentally sustainable’ weaponry. The noise pollution from this biannual event is so bad, local residents say, that schools have sometimes had to close early.
