Youth Voices for Peace video released

Posted: 14th August 2020

UN International Youth Day takes place on August 12 with the theme this year being Youth Engagement for Global Action.

UNFOLD ZERO and the Abolition 2000 Youth Network encourage youth and the not-so-young to highlight peace, nuclear disarmament and sustainable development for youth, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Below are some events, initiatives and action ideas.

Youth Voices for Peace video released

To commemorate Youth Day 2020, the Abolition 2000 Youth Network has released a Youth Voices video which includes samples of youth messages on peace, disarmament and sustainable development. Many of the youth messages also highlight the roles of international insitutions like the UN and the OSCE to advance these issues in cooperation with youth.

We encourage other youth to submit their video messages for inclusion in the Youth Voices project. And we encourage those not-so-young to respond to the youth messages with your own comments and thoughts. In this way the project advances inter-generational dialogue. (Click hereto see some of the video responses from policy makers and experts to the youth messages).
