John Cottis, R.I.P.

Dear Supporter of Faringdon Peace Group –
You may already have heard through the grapevine that John Cottis died suddenly, last Wednesday. Those of us privileged to have known John will remember him as wonderfully kind, thoughtful, and always thinking of others.
And of course a stalwart peace group supporter (first Wantage then Faringdon) for 40+ years! Without the support of the Quakers the Peace Group would not have been able to achieve all the many things we’ve done – particularly those involving the Friends Meeting house.
Our thoughts are with Janie and the rest of the family – as they come to terms with their loss.
Janie has sent the following message:

We have not been able to be active in FPG in the last year or two, but if anyone asks, the cremation and Quaker memorial service will be at Garford (? South Oxfordhire) crematorium, on Thursday 3rd October at 2.15. Everyone is warmly invited to refreshments afterwards, at La Fontana restaurant, which is not far away.
We were lucky to have 67 happy years together, but although he had become physically very frail I was not prepared for this.(Is anyone, ever?)
With love,
Janie

In peace,
Sjoerd
