Let’s make our voices heard – tell the Government to restore protest rights!

Let’s make our voices heard – tell the Government to restore protest rights!

New research from the think tank Demos, supported by Liberty, shows that the British public overwhelmingly supports protest rights.

Nine out of 10 people believe that everyone has the right to voice their opinion and raise awareness on issues they care about.

The previous Government spent years trying to reduce everyone’s protest rights. They created new protest offences and gave the police excessive powers to shut down protests and arrest demonstrators.

But our research shows they failed to bring public opinion with them. The public agree with Liberty members that protest rights must be protected.

That’s why we’re calling on Keir Starmer’s new Government to reverse these anti-protest laws. Will you sign the petition and support our campaign?

I SUPPORT PROTEST RIGHTS

Keir Starmer and the new Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, have a golden opportunity to protect the right to protest for future generations. Will they take it?

We’re urging them to scrap the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and the Public Order Act 2023.

History shows that when we come together to make our voices heard, we can change things for the better. From votes for women to Pride, protest has made Britain better for everyone.

The new Government must enable people to speak out on the issues that matter to us. They must review protest laws and scrap those that prevent people standing up for what we believe in.

If you agree, add your name to our petition.

RESTORE PROTEST RIGHTS

Almost 15,000 people have already signed the petition – join them today to strengthen the campaign.

Best wishes,
