A reminder that the 1984 apocalyptic docu-drama Threads will be aired on BBC 4 tonight. It’s only the fourth time that the BBC has aired Threads in the film’s 40 year history. Despite this, it has become a critically acclaimed classic for its harrowing and realistic portrayal of what survival in Britain would be like in the aftermath of a nuclear war.

Ahead of its start time at 10:15pm, the film’s director and producer Mick Jackson shares the story of how the film was made.
