This is our message to Keir Starmer: it’s time for action on protest rights!

The previous Government spent years undermining everyone’s right to protest. They criminalised classic protest tactics and even gave police absurd new powers to ban ‘noisy’ protests.

Now, Keir Starmer and the new Home Secretary Yvette Cooper have a chance to undo the damage.

They can restore fundamental protest rights for the next generation, and make sure everyone can speak out on issues that matter to them.

So, what are they waiting for?

If you have not already done so, send a message to Keir Starmer. Sign our petition to restore protest rights by repealing the last Government’s toxic anti-protest laws.

We can’t sit back. We need to turn that broad public support for protest rights into unstoppable momentum for change.

That’s what our new campaign, #WeProtest, is all about. We need to raise the volume and get everyone talking about the power of protest to transform this country for the better.

For years, politicians have attacked protest, and just about anyone who speaks up for justice and equality.

We are replacing their negativity with a joyful and inspiring story of why we protest.

We protest to celebrate and defend our communities, to get justice for people who have been wronged, and for those in power to listen to our concerns. When we protest, we make Britain a better place.
