On Tuesday 17 September, Liberty members came together for an online event to celebrate our 90th anniversary. Now, we’ve made the video available to everyone.
Archivist Sarah Pymer from Hull History Centre takes us on a whistlestop tour of the Liberty archive, while historian Chris Moores shares findings from his book Civil Liberties and Human Rights in Twentieth-Century Britain, a history of Liberty from its origins as the National Council for Civil Liberties.
Finally, Francesca Klug, a former Director of the Civil Liberties Trust who advised the Government on devising and implementing the Human Rights Act, offers her perspectives on Liberty’s past, present and future.
