Dear Peter,

I’m writing to you for the first time in my position as General Secretary to ask if you will donate to our winter appeal and support CND’s urgent agenda for peace and justice in 2025.

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re more committed than ever to advocating for peace and disarmament in a world marked by devastating conflicts and rising nuclear tensions. Our government’s policies support increased arms spending, upgrades to the nuclear arsenal and greater military escalation.

And now, with President Trump’s finger on the nuclear button, the world is even more dangerous. The risks of nuclear flashpoints are already high—over Ukraine, across the Middle East and in the Asia-Pacific. This will only intensify under his presidency.

Please help us reach our goal of £32,000 to support the crucial work we have planned in 2025.

We believe there’s a different path to war and destruction—one rooted in peace, justice, and sustainability.

At CND’s 2024 conference, The World We Want: A New Agenda for Peace and Justice, we brought together voices for change. We discussed de-escalation, the redirection of military resources to sustainable industries, and how each of us can contribute—from lobbying to making ethical financial choices.
