Tighter leash on a nuclear poodle
The Mutual Defence Agreement that allows transfer of nuclear weapons technology from the US to the UK used to be renewed by the UK parliament every ten years. But the new Labour government quietly amended it without debate or vote so that the treaty cannot be changed, opening up a convenient trade route for Rolls Royce and putting the MDA “beyond democratic accountability in perpetuity.” MORE
