CND History

A former county councillor has published a book on the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). Martin Shaw, who represented Seaton as an independent councillor, has used his personal experience and research to write about the protest movement. The CND, known for its “Ban the Bomb” slogan, organised large demonstrations in the 1960s and 1980s. While writing the book, Mr Shaw was also leading a protest against the proposed demolition of part of Seaton Hospital.
