A new Canadian study - Indigenous Views on Nuclear Energy and Radioactive Waste - concludes that colonialism is ongoing in Canada and that Indigenous voices are being ignored for the benefit of the nuclear industry. Collecting Indigenous opinions from three provinces, the authors found widespread consensus that producing and storing nuclear waste on Indigenous territories without their free, prior and informed consent, is a continuing violation of their human rights.
