Palestine Solidarity Campaign look back on 2024

Posted: 28th December 2024

There’s no denying that 2024 has been a horrifying year. In October we marked an entire year of Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza. Since then thousands more Palestinians have been killed. And despite the huge cries for an end to British complicity, our government has continued its support for Israel’s genocide.

But 2024 has also been a hopeful year, Peter. And today, together, we’re going to look at all the incredible, impactful campaigning that people like you have done to pressure our politicians and institutions into isolating Israel and moving closer to a future where Palestine is free – from the river to the sea.

Take a look at what we’ve achieved together:

We held 22 national demonstrations, with hundreds of thousands of you marching to demand an end to Israel’s genocide.

Over 5,000 people closed their Barclays accounts in protest of the bank’s complicity.

Swansea University divested £5 million from Barclays, and we supported student encampments at 35 campuses.

Three London councils committing to divesting their pension schemes from complicit companies.

PUMA finally dropped the Israeli football association after years of campaigning.

And, we defeated the Anti-Boycott Bill, which would have effectively outlawed BDS.

These wins are incredible, and wouldn’t have been possible without this committed community speaking out, donating generously and never giving up the fight for Palestinians.

But the truth is, all of these wins cost a lot of money to make happen, and there is still a huge amount of work to do. In 2025, it’s so crucial that we keep this vital campaign going – and pile on even more pressure onto the government, institutions and companies – to force Israel to end its brutal occupation and genocide.

That’s why I wanted to ask one final time this year, will you donate to fund next year’s fight?

Yes, I’ll donate

Thank you for standing with the Palestinian people this year in their darkest moment, and for supporting our work.
