Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament

We’re so sorry we were having some technical issues with our donation page on the website earlier. It’s now working again if you would like to donate to the adverts:

Add your name to CND’s newspaper adverts

CND is planning a series of adverts in key regional newspapers on 22 March to coincide with the Spring Budget Statement – with a message to the government to urgently tackle the rising poverty crisis and our crumbling public services instead of reckless military spending.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and put their name on the CND newspaper adverts. We’re halfway to reaching our target!

Please, if you can, make a donation towards the cost of the adverts and add your name too.

Since taking office, the British government has made clear it is prioritising increased military spending over investing in our public services. This includes spending over £205 billion on a new generation of nuclear-armed submarines, being built at Barrow Shipyard. CND is protesting there in March, to coincide with the government’s Spring Budget, to put a spotlight on the obscene levels of money being wasted on these deadly weapons.

Your donation to our newspaper advert will help us to reach thousands of people, letting them hear our alternative to this reckless military spending drive. They need to know that instead of billions being wasted on these nuclear weapons, it could be redirected into essential public services and developing sustainable energy sources. This means areas like Barrow could be regenerated sustainably, providing decent jobs that don’t threaten people and planet.

Let’s get our message out loud and clear!

We must receive your donation by Friday 14 March for your name to appear on the advert.

In peace,
Sophie Bolt
General Secretary
