On Saturday 25th July Salisbury CND set up their Campaigning, Information and Fundraising Stall in the Maltings.
In addition to our usual activities, we ran a People’s Ballot that allowed passers by to express their views on the future replacement of the Trident nuclear submarine fleet. With this issue coming before Parliament next year, it was timely to engage people in conversations about this enormous future investment. A Trident quiz also attracted interest and emphasised some of the alternative ways in which the estimated £100 billion could be spent.
Thanks to all who took the time to talk with us and take part in the People’s Ballot. 81% of the 71 people who voted opposed Trident replacement.
Thanks also to all members of Salisbury CND who helped with the Stall during the day.
