BASIC did some work on this topic back in 2016, so it’s good to see that 

BBC News has finally caught up with the matter.

I would not go so far as to say that underwater drones will make nuclear 
armed submarines obsolete in the short-medium term, but they may make it 
harder to operate the submarines.
