Our government is shamefully silent as Israel escalates its military onslaught against Palestinians across the West Bank. We urgently need your help getting MPs to support a new Early Day Motion that’s just been tabled in parliament.
Israel’s violence in the West Bank is intensifying. Since the 21st January, Israel has launched a major offensive that has already killed 51 Palestinians, including many children. Ayman Al-Hemouni, aged 12, and Rimas Ammouri, aged 13, are among those children deliberately targeted when they were shot in the back by Israeli forces last week. In scenes that are frighteningly reminiscent of the destruction inflicted on the Gaza Strip, over 40,000 Palestinians have now been forcibly displaced.
For the first time since 2002, Israel has sent armoured tanks into Jenin. Israeli forces and settlers have also continued their coordinated attacks in Masafer Yatta and occupied East Jerusalem, setting homes and structures ablaze.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has grotesquely declared that Palestinian refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas are now “empty of residents,” while ordering a prolonged military presence over the coming year. During all of this, our government has remained shamefully silent.
We need your voice. You can demand action by writing to your MP and calling for an end to British complicity in Israel’s occupation and apartheid. This includes an immediate end to all military cooperation and arms trade with Israel, and a ban on all trade with illegal Israeli settlements.
Please take action now. It only takes 2 minutes to send our new message to your MP, but we must keep the pressure up.
In solidarity,
James
