On a still evening, some 300 candles made their way down the river to commemorate those who died in Hiroshima the first time an atomic bomb was ever dropped. It was a moving reminder of the terrible threat posed by such weapons and the need for man to learn from what has gone before and ensure such events are never repeated.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this event happen and thanks to the very many spectators who came to watch.
