Stop the War coalition

We need you!

Keir Starmer is insisting on spending more on weapons of war in his bid to appease Trump. He is defending his plans in the Commons by appealing to fear and is proposing sending British troops into the line of fire. His new self-appointed role as bridge between Europe and the US means the UK is leading the European arms race.

The increased defence spending (2.5% of GDP) is huge and will impact on us all. Spending vast amounts on the military when so many in this country live in abject poverty is immoral. The real danger we face is from the climate crisis, from austerity, and from the rise of the far-right encouraged by cuts to living standards.

The anti-war movement must do all it can to stand up to Starmer’s new militarism. Together we are stronger. Please consider joining us today.

Israel is restricting aid into Gaza in contravention of the ceasefire agreement and the West Bank continues to be attacked while the world is distracted by chaos in the White House and the crisis in Europe. Netanyahu has told his new head of military that he is ‘determined to achieve victory’ over Hamas. The ceasefire is unlikely to hold for much longer.

Jeremy Corbyn issued a letter on Wednesday to the UK prime minister saying he and colleagues are calling for ‘a public, independent inquiry into the UK’s involvement in Israel’s military assault in Gaza.’ Not least the UK’s continued arming of Israel.

It is vital that we continue to pressurise the government to demand they stop arming Israel. But we need your help. The larger our movement the more our demands are heard. Help us build Stop the War.
