Southbound nuclear warhead convoy returned to AWE Burghfield

Posted: 16th March 2025

Southbound nuclear warhead convoy returned to AWE Burghfield this afternoon at 4.23pm. There it was tracked and monitored by Aldermaston Women’s Peace Campers.

This convoy had taken 2 days to travel from RNAD Coulport in Scotland, staying in Yorkshire last night.

It travelled through Oxfordshire, passing Banbury, Bicester, Oxford, Kidlington, Abingdon and Didcot.

It was tracked and monitored all the way by nukewatchers.

Nukewatch has never had so many calls / texts from members of the public as there have been today & they all wanted to know what it was about (as usual) & nukewatch was happy to explain of course.

It is encouraging that they googled to contact successfully, and also that a few mentioned the current international situation which we sense was a factor in them making contact.

This convoy is the most deadly cargo on our roads.
