The dumping of radioactive water from Japan’s Fukushima nuclear site into the Pacific Ocean could go on for decades. One man is walking to stop it—hoping to draw attention and support as he marches from New York to Washington, DC.

Won-Young Lee has walked from Seoul to Tokyo. Now the 67-year old South Korean is taking his mission to the United States. His goal along the way, as he marches from the UN in New York to Washington DC (where he should arrive on April 8) is to educate the public and hopefully government officials, that the discharge of radioactive water at Fukushima into the ocean is a crime against the environment. “The Japanese government is intentionally dumping potentially fatal nuclear contaminants into the sea,” Lee says.
