Israel is once again escalating its genocidal violence against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip alongside attacks on Palestinians across the West Bank. This week new evidence has confirmed the brutal murder of 15 Palestinian aid workers killed by Israeli forces in Rafah who were shot at close range and buried in a mass grave. Our Palestinians partners need us to take action in solidarity.

Yesterday, dozens of actions took place outside shops and supermarkets as part of our new ‘Don’t buy apartheid’ campaign. Next Saturday will see demonstrations in towns and cities right across Britain. We must also keep putting pressure directly on politicians and the government to end British complicity with Israel’s ongoing atrocities.

The violence that Palestinians are confronting today follows decades of ethnic cleansing, apartheid, settler-colonisation and denial of their fundamental rights. In May, we are planning a whole week of actions to mark 77 years since the start of the Nakba, meaning catastrophe in Arabic, when three-quarters of the Palestinian population were forcibly displaced from their homeland. This will culminate in our national march for Palestine in London on Saturday 17th May.

As part of that week, we need you to join us on Wednesday 14th May for a national lobby of parliament to demand action from MPs. We will be calling for sanctions to be implemented against Israel, including an end to all military cooperation and arms trade, and a ban on all other trade that aids or assists Israel in maintaining its illegal occupation.

Lobbying your MP is easy and anyone can join – you just need to be available to be in parliament between 2-5pm on the day. You can watch the video below which explains the whole process and guides you through the day. You’ll also be sent a full briefing pack to help you prepare before arriving in parliament, and lots of people will be around to advise and support you. The most important thing is to be there, joining hundreds of other constituents to tell your MP face-to-face that they must act now!

Faced with the resumption of Israel’s full-scale atrocities we must draw inspiration from the decades of Palestinian resistance to settler colonialism and apartheid. Now, more than ever, we need to take action to demand our politicians end British complicity in Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people and ongoing genocide in Gaza.
