Henry Sokolski reveals in a column for the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists that the 6-reactor Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is being brokered as part of a peace deal in Ukraine. But Ukraine won’t give it up and nor will the Russians. Why does the US want to run it? Sokolski’s article runs through a long list of challenges just to restart the reactors, leading to only one logical conclusion: not to.
