On Tuesday the UN’s humanitarian chief warned that 14,000 children in Gaza were at risk of dying from starvation if aid did not reach them. It is now four days later, and almost no aid has passed Israel’s blockade to the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians on the brink of starvation, while Israel continues to rain down bombs.
Meanwhile the British government continues to provide the Israeli government with the weapons and military technology to carry out this genocide.
Join us tonight in London at our emergency protest to demand a full arms embargo now. Words are not enough. We need action to bring this genocide to an end.
All MPs must demand that the government introduce a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel now. If what they are witnessing is ‘intolerable’, as Foreign Secretary David Lammy admitted earlier this week, then it is up to them not to tolerate it. It is within the power of this government to end the arms trade with Israel and stop the impunity that Israel relies on to continue its crimes.
Take action by emailing your MP today, including asking them to support the new Early Day Motion 1310 calling for a full suspension of the arms trade with Israel, and transparency over the government’s exports.
As British politicians enable Israel’s atrocities, it falls on us all, the people, to stand up against this complicity, and hold those in power to account. Only collective power can force this government to back down, to change its policies, and we must keep turning out in every way we can until we end the horrors facing the Palestinian people.
See you on the streets tonight.
In solidarity,
Stella
