The UK government has reached a deal with French authorities, allowing Electricite de France SA (EDF) to retain a 12.5% stake in the Sizewell C nuclear reactor project. The UK government and other investors will hold the remaining stake, with the UK investing £14.2 billion in the project to replace aging atomic plants and provide low-carbon electricity. EDF is set to hold a board meeting to greenlight its participation in Sizewell C, which will help the UK government make a final investment decision on the project soon after.
