National march for Palestine – Saturday 19 July

Israeli air and ground attacks have been intensifying across Gaza in recent days. On Thursday alone at least 82 people were killed, including children queuing for nutritional supplements required because they are being starved. Today (Friday) more deaths are being reported as families seek medical and nutritional aid.

Patients cannot go to hospital because those that remain are full or too dangerous to reach. ‘The health system here has collapsed; there’s no hospital to go to,’ said Médecins Sans Frontières’ Dr. Iman Abo Shawish, Senior Medical Doctor in AlMawasi clinic.

Aid distribution centres run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation have become killing zones, and the proposals for a ‘humanitarian city’ to be built in the ruins of Rafah are nothing less than a plan for a ‘second Nakba’.

This is why we will be on the streets again next Saturday, 19 July. Let’s make this march as big and as loud as possible.

As Chris Nineham makes clear, our government seeks to repress the Palestine movement, but to show solidarity with Palestinians and to protest the genocide, we must stand firm.

They have attacked artists Kneecap and Bob Vylan and have proscribed Palestine Action. They have called our marches ‘hate marches’ and accuse us of anti-semitism, and now they have charged four leaders of the mass protest movement, two (Chris Nineham and Alex Kenny) from the leadership of StWC.

We know we have the vast majority of the general public on our side, we know most people want the government to stop selling arms to Israel and want an end to the slaughter in Gaza. Our strength lies in our numbers.

It is more important than ever that we show solidarity with Palestine and pressure our government to stop arming Israel. Join us on Saturday 19 July at Embankment, London to march to Whitehall.

Get organising: order leaflets from the office - book your transport – tell your friends – build the march on social media using #StopArmingIsrael.

Stephen Kapos Tour

Trump, Imperialism & the Middle East

Stephen Kapos, Holocaust survivor and Palestine activist, is touring the country with Stop the War this summer, discussing Trump, Imperialism and the Middle East. Stephen and others will be joining up the dots between Palestine, the wider Middle East and Western imperialism.

It is clear the Middle East is highly volatile, that Trump is increasingly unpredictable and that Netanyahu’s vicious and reckless actions know no bounds.

To help make sense of this increasingly dangerous world join Stephen Kapos, who will be speaking alongside prominent anti-war activists, writers and StWC officers.

Find a meeting near you and hear how the anti-war movement should respond to these dangerous developments.

Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival

Stop the War will once again have a stall at the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival in Dorset on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July.

If you are going to the festival and can help out, especially at lunchtime, or can help carry the banner in the parade on Sunday afternoon, please email the office.
