Latest Mayors for Peace briefing concerning the 11th General Conference and Peace Ceremonies in Japan and advanced notice of the Peace History Conference

Please find attached the latest Mayors for Peace Briefing covering the recent 11th General Conference held in Nagasaki (7-10 August) and the 80th anniversary Peace Ceremonies held in Hiroshima (6 August) and Nagasaki (9 August). The Lord Mayor of Manchester Cllr Carmine Grimshaw and I were honoured to attend and participate in these moving and historic events.

 

As the Secretary of the Nuclear Free Local Authorities I was also delighted that we were named as a key international partner of Mayors for Peace.

 

I have also attached notice of a future Peace History Conference to be held at my alma mater, the University of Bradford.
